( SKIN TONE ) --- From working hard out in the sun almost every single day, one would think her skin to be the 'perfect deep tone'. Though in all honesty it was lightly sun-kissed and a light, right tan that brought out her hair coloration moreso along with her eyes.
( HEIGHT ) --- 5'7"
( WEIGHT ) --- 162 lbs.
( OVERALL )
Josaphine is an girl that when first glanced at, one would think her to be meek and helpless when it came time to dealing with 'the manly chores' of the day. Of course, she proved many men wrong when she worked hard through the day with what seemed to be non-stop energy. There was one thing that had caught some people off-guard. Her accent. A true southern sweetheart from Perry County, Alabama. She had been there her whole life helping her folks. So now moving to Licoln County, her accent is still highly thick and turns a head or two. She is a well figured woman, though not highly 'gifted' as some women were. Though her form was somewhat lithe, she wasn't skin and bone. Mostly strong muscle that seemed to hide away until needed for work.
When some men went on breaks, she kept working. Her mind was set on getting the job done and on to the next task. All in all, she knew how to take care of herself, let alone animals and whatnot. After her father had taught her to be a ferrier, the horse-shoeing business was one of her specialties. Now to her, if you were a true cowgirl of the west, you was come to meet the 'look'. Rough hands from tossing hale bales, even if you had hide gloves on. Able to cook a fine meal, and still be able to work right after caring for whoever is at the table. Body ached, though pain has become a friend for that is what hard work would do to you if you really threw your weight around. It's no wonder some of the men she had worked with prior called her 'one of the boys'.
( THE INSIDE )
( LIKES ) --- * Trail rides at night when the work is done and a warm meal settles in the stomach. Heading out to a campfire to share stories with those who wished to follow is one of the greatest things she always wished to do. Though having come to a new place..Rather hard to find anyone willing to do that.
* Going on any cattle drive to help out. She enjoyed being about to be at one with not only the her horse, but be able to sharpen her senses and learn about the lands moreso each time when travled to.
* Cooking! Ah yes cooking was a favorite of hers as well. Ever since her mother passed away of sickness, she had gained all family recipies for some fine cookin. It was a plus on cattle drives. No matter what she had, she managed to make it some fine-tasting food for the others.
* Harmonica playing is one of her past time at nights when she is out by herself. Her horse found it rather odd at first, though enjoyed the tunes after a while of listening to the night symphony of crickets and coyotes, hoot owls, and whatever creature that stirred in the night.
* Now, some of the girls she had met were mostly man crazy and always willing to hook up with every charming man they meet. Jo was a different case. She enjoys beign able to work alongside a guy, get to know him and see how well he worked. See how well they get along with one another while giving each other advice or questioning one another to see what their lives were about. If the man was hard-working, soft spoken, and easy to get along with then she would considered become close friends. Lately she hasn't really found any guy that would fit the description. (That wasn't taken, at least.)
*Horses, of course every cowgirl needs a trusty horse beneath them when on drives or just cutting cattle to see what ones to keep or sell. Let alone on trail rides one that doesn't care or jump at the slightest sound. This is one of Jo's major work parts - training a horse and breaking them to be subtle and quite on ride, though trust-worthy for any job. Especially if guns are going to fire close to their heads.
( DISLIKES ) --- * Judgemental people: Just because you are rich doesn't mean you are better. Never judge a person by looks and wealth, because somewhere along those lines your eyes will go blind and see nothing but lies.
* Arrogant behavior: It's natural to see some men here in the west be the drunkards of the town. Always stumbling, drenched in booze-soaked attire. Foul words slip through their teeth like a snake slithering through the grass. Uneeded attention is what they want, along with law, of course. No wonder their tempers flare. I'm sure Jo's would to if she were to turn down that road and be thrown to jail numerous of times.
* Cattle and Horse thieves: One the greatest peeves Josaphine has is against Cattle and horse thieves. In no right mind one should steal a horse when you can go out, catch one, break it, and have a horse of your own. No, some are just to lazy to do that so they reside to stealing for a horse to ride and cattle to stuff their belly with.
* Jealousy: There were many a time when Josaphine would be working with men, and their wives had high tongues to put her name to the dirt and spit upon it with harsh words. All because she was a woman who kept doing a mans job. Some men even had to quit a job just to be able to keep their wives at peace. This brought Jo to usually stay at home or go to neighboring ranches to help out as much as she could.
* Lie: Be it a white lie or a straight up lie from the devil's mouth himself, a lie is a lie. It only gets you into trouble and it is not something Josaphine will put up with if she ever finds out someone had done so.
( STRENGTHS ) --- * A heart of gold to prove any she can do what she puts her mind to.
* A soft dispositon that lets her show giving and caring to others in need of help. (Which is also a weekness..Sometimes being too kind can lead to disaster.)
* Hard working gal that knows her stuff and can make any man who looks down on her turn their gaze for how strong of a worker she is no matter any harsh comments would be tossed to her face.
* A fighter when need be, Josaphine is not the girl to mess with if you get on her bad side. She is sharp shooting with her twin Smith & Wesson guns that sat at either hip within a cow-hide, home made, holster.
( WEAKNESSES ) --- * Being too caring is one of her biggest weaknesses. Because of this weakness, a broken heart and lies sliped through her like barbed wire twisting and breaking every peice.
*Though a hard worker, she can sometime over-work herself. There have been times she pushed herself beyond her limits and wasn't able to work for a day due to a pulled muscle or strained ligament.
* From moving to Licoln County, she usually had friends to talk to or slightly vent out on. Now she stays quiet, though isn't afraid to speak her mind or say 'hello' to someone or says it first. Her emotions will bottle up, and at night she would vent out her own way. Shooting off the firearms- which usually got her into a tiney bit of trouble if she was too close to any housing establishments.
( DREAMS ) --- * To find a man of her dreams would be nice. A man who didn't care how hard of a worker she was or all the 'man' chores she did. One who would accept her and be able to say 'Marry Me' to have a hard working family. *To own a ranch that sells top of the line horses and cattle. *To own land that was rich and fertile enough to grow multiple crops to be able to last through any winter days.
( GOALS ) --- *Have a family * Become wealthy from ferrier and all the other odd jobs she does. * Live on her own ranch. (With a family)
( FEARS ) --- *Losing her father *Becoming lame to where she can not work * Her father losing their long-time home and ranch * Being alone

( THE PAST )
( MOTHER ) --- Sally Harrison - Passed ( FATHER ) --- Bob Harrison - Alive, though in Alabama to try and settle out lack of money situations with the bank. ( SIBLINGS ) --- None ( OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE ) --- none ( HOMETOWN ) --- Perry County, Alabama ( CURRENT HOME ) --- Licoln County ( OVERALL )
A new life, a new home. A place where a fresh start was to happen. That is what her father told her, and what does she find? In a way, nothing. Yes she had many numerous of jobs, always going to any ranch and helping out. Some rather astonished at just how good of a worker she was. Though the story didn't start here. It started the night she found out it was her ma's time to pass to the heavens.
She was only 19 at the time, having lived her life to the full with hard work to keep her mind occupide. She started her chores when she was almost 5, always helping ma with dishes, laundary, cleaning, and light cooking. She actually enjoyed helping her dearest ma out with all of this. Seemed to ease mother's day out much more. At the age of 10, she was already out in the barn helping her pa bale hay and starting to learn to break horses. She was always observant of every move her father made and how he worked with horses. Especially when he did his famous shoe-work for them. Of course, with the extra pair of hands she offered, not everything would go so easily.
There was a night when a heavy storm blew in. Mother and father were out trying to get the cattle safely into a large barn so none of the new-born calves would suffer any sickness from the cold rain. Of course, where there is storm, lightning always strikes. Sally, Jo's mom, was already sick from something the doctors couldn't put their fingers on. On this night, lightning had made target on the wooden fence, splitting all four peice of strong wood right in half. Already the cows scattered and busted fully through the fence in a stampeed. Bob and Sally told their daughter to get inside while they rounded the cattle.
It was an hour or more before they came back. Jo watched as her father carried mother up to the house. Already Josaphine knew mother's condition had greatly declined to where Sally could barely breath properly. Pneumonia had struck yet again. At the age of 11, Sally had passed away, leaving the ranch to be in the hands of her daughter and husband.
Since that day, Josaphine worked twice, perhaps three times as hard as she could to keep the ranch up and going. Though she knew something was wrong when her father had told her to go ahead and pack up and leave for Licoln County to have a fresh start. Sure there were multiple of jobs in Licoln, but that didn't mean that Josaphine wanted to leave her home. Of course, one morning when father was asleep she had found some documents stating that the ranch was about to go under due to lack of payment for the land. Thats when she packed up, got her horse and belongings and left. Of course she left her father a note to let him know where she had gone.
"Don't worry about a thing, I will get the money and get us back on our feet. I won't let you down Pa. I love you and you best take care of yourself. Love, Lil Jo"
Now at the age of 20, she had settled in and moved from ranch to ranch, working hard and earning much income. Most of it she saved and was able to hide away until she is able to send it to father. Until then she works all day and most of the night to be sure the ranch would not be lost.
( ROLE PLAY SAMPLE ) This is important because I want to see how well you can roleplay and more importantly the character.
